The first ever online bus terminal ( OBT) in Bangladesh launched today in Cox’sBazar initiated by Cox’sBazar District Police and its Traffic Department.
With the aim to control the traffic and to stop the irregularities of the buses , the platform has been designed.
This is the firsr time the passengers will see this kind of platform and can get the services from buying tickets to time scheduling with a click away.
Today (September 27,) Friday , the opening ceremony took place at Sughnada point of kolatoli at touristic city Cox’sBazar.
The superintendent of Cox’sBazar District Police Muhammad Rohomot Ullah opened the event by cutting the ribon and flying the pigeons along with the students of anti discrimination movement Zinia , Rabiul and many others .
‘ In Cox’sBazar, there are many travelers coming from almost 40 different districts and almost 800 buses keep moving to Cox’sBazar from 90 places including Dhaka, but there are only 70 parking spaces in this tiny town, so this online bus terminal will play an important role to ease this problem. Says Police Super Muhammad Rohmot Ullah.
The main architect of this platform is , the national award winner, additional Police super of Trafic in Cox’sBazar Jasim Uddin.
He worked extremely hard to make this online a successful one.
He says , this is a unique platform where the users will be able to check details of a bus, its time , its drivers profile , its departure time and its current situation.
The function was moderated by Jasim Uddin, the man who is responsible for this incredible website.
The stakeholders, persona from the civil society and media personalities were present at the event.
